Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) is a thermoplastic engineering plastic, which is composed of viscosity-average molecular weight more than 2.5 million with a special type of catalyst. UHMWPE pipe has many properties: very high wear resistance, friction coefficient is extremely small, impact resistance, corrosion resistance, no fouling, excellent resistance to internal pressure strength, resistance to environmental stress cracking resistance, good self lubrication, anti adhesion, unique low temperature resistance, excellent chemical stability. All above makes UHMWPE pipe to be the most valuable wear resistant pipe. UHMWPE pipe can work for a long time in - 269 degrees to 80 degrees, which is widely used in metallurgical and mining mineral processing, power plants, granary, acid and alkali, mining tailings, mud and water coal slurry transportation, terminals, shipyards, oil, natural gas, textile, papermaking, food, chemical, mechanical, electrical and other industries.
The properties of wear resistant UHMWPE pipe:
(1) Its wear resistance is the strongest among all plastic and it is 7~10 times of carbon steel and stainless steel;
(2) The impact strength is the strongest of plastic. Its 2 times of PC and 5 times of ABS, and can be maintained at liquid nitrogen temperature (-196);
(3) Self-lubricating, anti-adhesion, non-scaling, low friction coefficient, which can be comparable with the PTFE;
(4) The impact energy absorption value is the strongest in all plastics, and it has the capacity of reducing the noise;
(5) Good chemical stability can be resistant to various corrosive medium and organic medium in a certain range of concentration and temperature;
(6) Having excellent capacity of being resistant to low temperature, and it still can be malleable at liquid helium temperature (- 269 DEG C);
(7) Excellent capacity of being resistance to internal pressure strength, high stress cracking resistance, rapid cracking resistance;
(8) Healthy and non-toxic, it can be directly touched with food and drugs.
